Thanks to this game, I discovered Of Montreal, who from the few tracks I've heard sound pretty good.
I like Nuetral Milk Hotel very much, so will try and give Hawk and a Hacksaw a listen. Are you from Albuquerque originally?
Yes Of Montreal does sound a bit glam rock which is no bad thing in my book. Which is the best album to start with? I hadn't realised there were so many!
I'd reccomend 'Looks like a Russian' by Sodastream,singer sounds like a miserable Stuart Murdoch. Have you heard anything by the Clientele? They're one of the few contemporary English (as opposed to Scottish) bands I like. They're signed to Merge so are much better known in the States than the UK, they sound like the Zombies/Byrds and 'Suburban Light' is one of my favourite records...ever!
